How do we define grief and loss?
Grief is your natural response to loss.
Loss can be:
death of a loved one
ending of a meaningful relationship
death of a pet
loss of a pregnancy
loss of health due to illness
loss of employment
loss of a major role/identity: such as retirement, children moving
Grief has no set pattern and each of us experiences loss in a unique way.
We might ask ourselves questions similar to:
How long will this last?
Will I ever be the same again?
Why has this happened to me?
What can I do with everything I’m feeling and thinking?
